I've seen life from a different point of view, I'd recommend it to anyone who's looking to improve, You'll see the grey, not black and white, You don't have to choose a side, A new pursuit of the truth, You'll understand your little quirks and traits, And work backwards through your life to see how they relate, Bad memories, a troubled past, A desire to be unabashed, One year from now there'll be no doubt. Your posture will improve and you will hold your head up high, A side effect of the confidence that will come in time, And people might say you've changed but that's only jealousy, You've come this far, you've raised the bar, You've seen the light of day even in the darkest times, The shadows have nearly dissipated, Replaced by your new life, And you wouldn't change a thing, You've turned the page, A brand new age. And you wouldn't change a thing.

Stalemate 03:26
It's stalemate and we're both as stubborn as each other, This could be a good thing but we'd rather just sit and suffer, To make the first move would be like admitting defeat, But I refuse to chase and I refuse to leave. So, what do you want to do? (What do you want to do?) It's completely up to you, (It's completely up to you) If you decide the end's in sight, I won't argue I won't fight, But if you regret the path you choose, Then this all falls on you. It's not like I've just given you an ultimatum, But I'd really appreciate a decision, It's quite clear that we have got nothing in common, Bar attraction and that's why I'll proceed with caution. So, what do you want to do? (What do you want to do?) It's completely up to you, (It's completely up to you) If you decide the end's in sight, I won't argue I won't fight, But if you regret the path you choose, Then this all falls on you, And I hope you make the right move.

I'm only here with one intention, That with which I shall not mention, I'll pretend I haven't seen you, My insecurities could show through, I'll keep dancing with my eyes closed, Keep my distance so I don't impose, Hoping that you'll make the first move, I'm not one to just assume. When you're ready to talk, Come and say hello. Just when I thought it was over, You moved in a little closer, I'll keep you in my periphery, Just until you approach me, And just incase it never happens, I'll just settle on the fact that, We'd probably be incompatible, Maybe I'm too fallible? Let's just go home, Brave, bold, alone.

I saved up my money and came up with plans, Nothing specific, just lines in the sand, Bullet points and shorthand notes, From which you could paraphrase but you could not quote, Time-stamped and dated, each followed a tune, And could be reflective of the shade of my mood, I forecast delays and rainy days, And dug myself in just waiting for change. I summoned my memory and what worked out well, And what seemed to flow smoothly from what I could tell, The sum of all parts, an ancient lost art, Each sentence, each word, came straight from the heart, And it might seem unlikely but I swear it's the truth, We're fed up, we're lonely, we're caught in a loop, And it might seem strange in this day and age, But I could've sworn that honesty was all the rage. I knew that you might change your mind, That my paranoia was right, That you might have lost all interest, I'll tell myself it's for the best.
6.
I wanted to avoid the emotional strain, It's the lesser of two evils and it's a shame, I know, I know, I know, That this isn't easy for you, It's not easy for me either, I'm doing this for me, but I'm a people pleaser, I know, I know, I know, But this wasn't doing anything for me, So, I blew the whistle accordingly, I know, I know, I know. But what's the point of dragging things out? There's clearly no future if I'm having such doubts, And one day you'll be, Appreciative of my honesty. And you might question my change of heart, And why I didn't say anything at the start, I know, I know, I know, But you always regret what you don't try, But leading you on never crossed my mind, I know, I know, I know, That you might not understand at the moment, And I offer these words as atonement, I know, I know, I know. But what's the point of dragging things out? There's clearly no future if I'm having such doubts, And one day you'll be, Appreciative of my honesty. But until then, I set myself up for abuse, You look for anything to use against me, You're obviously annoyed, But seriously, what's the point of dragging things out? There's clearly no future if I'm having such doubts, And one day you'll be, Appreciative of my honesty, Once you move on, You'll agree that this was wrong, You won't feel the same, You might even forget my name, You'll find someone new, And realise I'm telling the truth, But until then.
